Ankara prosecutors are investigating the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) executives for "being a member of a terrorist organization," Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reported.
The investigation covers TTB Chair Şebnem Korur-Fincancı's comments about chemical warfare allegations against Türkiye, for which she is behind bars now, according to the report.
Korur-Fincancı was arrested in late October for "terror propaganda" because of her remarks.
Commenting on videos released by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) purportedly showing two militants affected by chemical gases, Korur-Fincancı had said it was "apparent" that nerve agents had been used and the allegations should be investigated by international experts.
Following strong reactions from government officials, prosecutors had opened an investigation against Korur-Fincancı.
In late October, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office also filed a case demanding the dismissal of the TTB Central Council members.
It's the same prosecutor who demanded the TTB executives' dismissals and who is investigating them for "terror" crimes, according to the MA report. (VK)
