This morning, Prime Ministry Office guards detained in Ankara an individual who allegedly carried a package disguised as a bomb. Following the incident, the suspect was taken to Çankaya Police Station.
According to various news sources, the incident originated as guards IDed T.B. (51) by the Prime Ministry Office. While T.B. refused to identify himself, guards have reportedly fired their weapons in the air and jumped over the suspect.
A preliminary search on the suspect came up with a mechanism that looked like a bomb.
It was also alleged that the suspect called the police five minutes before the incident to alert his action.
Briefly after the incident, Turkey’s Anatolia News Agency reported that the suspect has been shut, an allegation that was denied by Prime Ministry Advisor Yusuf Yerkel via witter. (EKN/BM)
