Having protested "to get her job back" in the Yüksel Street in the capital city of Ankara and arrested on August 22 on the grounds that "she continued protesting intensively despite previous judicial control measures", teacher Acun Karadağ has been released from prison.
The second hearing of the case was held at the Ankara 28th Heavy Penal Court yesterday (January 27).
The defendants made their defense at the hearing.
Defendants Mehmet Dersulu, Armağan Özbaş, Acun Karadağ, Nazan Bozkurt, Mahmut Konuk and Alev Şahin, protesting in Düzce, were arrested on August 22, 2020. Armağan Özbaş and Mahmut Konuç were released at the first hearing. The court has now ruled for Karadağ's release.
The court has ruled that the arrest of Alev Şahin, Mehmet Dersulu and Nazan Bozkurt shall continue. Alev Şahin is held in Kayseri, Nazan Bozkurt in Gebze and Mehmet Dersulu in Bolu prisons.
The next hearing will be held on April 5, 2021.
