Syrian refugee Muhammed Dip Hurih lost his life in a dispute with his neighbors over a parking problem in southeastern province of Antep.
Speaking to Ercüment Akdeniz from daily Evrensel about the incident, M.H. (21), the cousin of Hurih, has said that it was not the first dispute between the sides. His cousin has noted that Hurih was receiving threats.
"While my late cousin was parking his car last night, there once again erupted a dispute over this parking problem. Then, he went home. His wife told him to call the children to come home for dinner. He went out, another fight ensued with the neighbors. Then, my cousin was shot to death."
Hurih has two children, at 4 and 7, M.H. has also indicated, adding that "Syrian workers work without insurance in the region" where they live:
"My cousin and his family livein a rented house. His children are shocked. His wife is in a really bad condition. My cousin's mother and father are in Aleppo. They heard about the incident today. They are -of course- miserable, too. But it is impossible for them to come to Turkey for the funeral."
M.H. has also noted that three people have been taken into custody in relation with the incident. "The detained are not Syrians, they are citizens of the Republic of Turkey. My late cousin did not have a gun anyway. The police came to our family to take their statements; we need a lawyer and legal support to follow the case," he has added. (RT/SD)
