The Ministry of National Defense has announced that all preparations for a cross-border military operation into northern Syria have been completed.
It has been indicated that a military convoy of armored vehicles coming from different provinces of Turkey have arrived in the southeastern province of Kilis and set for Syria from the Çobanbey Border Gate. These armored vehicles will reportedly be stationed at military bases in al-Bab.
Armored personnel vehicles and military vehicles passed through the district of Antakya in Hatay and arrived in Yayladağı last evening (October 7).
Ministry of Defense: We are ready
The Ministry of National Defense has made a brief statement about the imminent operation on its Twitter account:
"Turkish Armed forces are ready for the struggle with the strength that it takes from the love, trust and prayers of our great nation against all terrorist organizations posing threat/danger to the integrity of our homeland, the survival of our state and the peace/security of our 82 million citizens and with the mindset 'If I die, I will fall martyr, if I stay, I will be a veteran'.
"The establishment of a Safe Zone/Peace Corridor is essential for Syrians to have a safe life by contributing to the stability and peace of our region. Turkish Security Forces will never tolerate the creation of a terror corridor at our borders. All preparations for the operation have been completed". (TP/SD)
