Syrian Government has agreed to cease the operations with the exception of the operations against ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and Al Nusra within the frame of the the truce agreement reached between the US and Russia.
According to the report of Sputnik News, it has been noted in the statement made by the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the operations against ISIS, Al Nusra and other organizations affiliated with those will not be ceased.
Pointing out that these organizations should not make use of a truce and thus grow stronger, the ministry has noted that every kind of attacks by armed groups against soldiers or civilians would find counter.
It has been added; “In order to guarantee the truce to be in effect as of February 27, Saturday, the Syrian Government is ready to sustain coordination with Russia on specifying the armed groups and the regions to which the truce would apply”.

The opposition: We will accept if the siege is lifted
“High Negotiations Committee” composed of Syrian opponents has also declared that they would agree on the truce if the siege in the 18 regions under the control of armed groups would be lifted.
The committee making the statement following the meeting held in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh yesterday (February 22) has demanded the Syrian government to remit political criminals and put an end to air operations. (EKN/DG)
