As part of the investigation launched into the death of Eda Nur Kaplan, who took her life shortly after filing a criminal complaint against two men for "sexual assault", suspect Yusuf G. has been arrested.
Taken into custody for "sexually assaulting" Kaplan and released to house arrest by the judgeship yesterday (August 10), Yusuf G. has been arrested upon the objection of the prosecutor's office.
The other male suspect Mehmet A. has also been detained again.
18-year-old Eda Nur Kaplan, on August 7, sent a message to her mother, saying, "Your little girl cannot stand some things anymore. They have wasted your daughter so much." After sending this text, she jumped off the window of the house where she was living with her elder sister in Ankara.
As reported by the press, before committing suicide, Kaplan appealed to the police and filed a criminal complaint against two men for sexual assault. While one of the suspects Mehmet A. was detained and released due to lack of evidence, Yusuf G. was still being searched. (EMK/SD)
