The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has prepared a summary of proceedings against Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy and Democratic Regions Party(DBP) co-chair Saliha Aydeniz on charges of "resisting the police", "insulting and injuring a public official", "meetings and demonstration marches without permission".
The summary of proceedings was sent to the Ministry of Justice.
After the Ministry's examination, the proceedings will be sent to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and then to the Grand National Assembly (TBMM) with a request of "lifting the immunity".
What happened?
50 activists were detained during the Gemlik March in İstanbul on June 12 for protesting the isolation of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan.
HDP deputies reacted to the police blockade, and a brawl broke out between some of the deputies and the police.
Then, Saliha Aydeniz was targeted because she "pushed" the police.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said about Aydeniz, "She will pay the price of this betrayal in front of the law. We will quickly remove her immunity and show that people like her can't live under this roof."
