DHKP-C claimed the plot
DHKP-C claimed the plot via halkinsesitv.com website. In 2012, Kalşen filed a complaint against media organizations that portrayed her as a "suicide bomber" and those police officers who shared her criminal records.
Governor’s statement
Later on, Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin released the following statement.
“We have one policemen gravely injured. His name is Kenan Kumaş. Doctors are doing their best to intervene. Another policeman is also slightly injured. The suicide bomber is dead after exploding herself. This is the only information we can share right now. Identification process is underway.
