The students who were detained because of attending the LGBTI+ Pride Parade at the METU have been stripped of scholarships and education loans.
The Credits and Dormitories Institution (KYK), upon a notice by the Ankara Provincial Security Directorate, sent a letter to the students, informing them that their scholarships were canceled, the KaosGL reported. The KYK also requested the students to "pay their debts to the institutions."
The KYK cited an article in its regulation that bans students "who are involved in incidents of terror or anarchy" and "who possesses firearms, explosive material, knives and all types of cutting tools" from receiving a scholarship or loan. (EMK/VK)
