The Movement of the Unsheltered (Barınamıyoruz Hareketi) has protested increased and dormitory fees in İstanbul's Asian-side district of Kadıköy.
The students spent last night at Yoğurtçu Park despite attempts by the police to block the protest.
People living in the area brought food and drinks for the students. Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) was also at the park to support the protesters.

In the morning, a member of the group made a statement: "Good morning, We have completed the first night of our 'We can't shelter' vigils. Thank you to everyone who stands with us and shows solidarity. If there is a crime, it is condemning millions of young people to sleep on the streets. We will be on the streets every day for our right to shelter."
A member of the movement previously told bianet that their demand is "good dormitories without exorbitant prices and affordable apartments that don't compromise life quality."
