Prime Ministry Resolution with regards to the Cabinet decree covering the declaration of State of Emergency (OHAL) in all 81 provinces of the country for three months has been put to vote and approved in the Parliament.
In the voting attended by 461 MPs, the State of Emergency resolution has passed with 346 aye and 115 nay votes.
Following the coup attempt on July 15, National Security Council (MGK) and the Cabinet had held a meeting on July 20 following which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had declared that State of Emergency was declared for three months in the whole country. Thereupon the decision has been published on the Official Gazette to enter into force. Only later the Cabinet decree has been put into vote in the Parliament and passed. (BK/DG)
