President Erdoğan announced that a State of Emergency will be issued in the ten provinces hit by the earthquakes.
President and Chairperson of Justice and Development Party Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, made announcements about yesterday's earthquakes today at 14.30 (February 7).
Accordingly, the death toll has risen to 3,549 and there are 22,168 people injured in Türkiye while more than 8 thousand people were rescued.
Erdoğan also announced that a State of Emergency was declared in the ten earthquake-hit provinces until May 7.
The President announced that 53,317 rescue workers are working in the whole region at the moment and all experts and vehicles in the country that may help with the rescue efforts are instructed to be sent to the region. Drones are also being used and they are identifying the affected areas, the President said.
However, the aftershocks and the weather conditions are making things more difficult.
Erdoğan also warned the citizens about not using the telephones and the roads when it is not really necessary. (AS/PE)
