The State Meteorological Service (MGM) has announced that powerful storms are expected in the Marmara Region and in the north of the Aegean Region today (December 14).
Starting from noon, the wind speed will reach 6 to 8 knots in Marmara and 7 to 9 knots in northern Aegean, according to the estimates.
Storms are expected to continue until mid-Wednesday.
The İstanbul Governor's Office also warned the city's residents to be cautious against possible incidents of trees coming down or roofs being blown off, as well as carbon monoxide poisoning caused by reverse air flow in chimneys.
Five people were killed and dozens were injured during storms northern and northwestern parts of the country in late November. (TP/VK)
