One soldier who was wounded in a conflict that occurred between the security forces and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) members in Amanos Mountains in the district of Arsuz in Hatay has lost his life at the hospital where he was treated and a sergeant major has been wounded.
Speaking about the incident at İskenderun Public Hospital, the Governor of Hatay Erdal Ata has stated that the soldier who was wounded in a fire opened by the PKK members yesterday evening (March 26) has lost his life while 11 PKK militants have been killed.
Ata has also added, "They were planning a retaliation for Afrin. During the operation, four M-16 rifles, one RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade and one pistol as well as ammunition of varying numbers and calibres have been seized."
The wounded sergeant major is still being treated at İskenderun Public Hospital. (AS/SD)
