Treated for his wounds in the Gülhane Training and Research Hospital, Infantry Specialized Sergeant İsmail Şebelek has lost his life.
The soldier was reportedly wounded in a rocket attack in the "Operation Claw-Tiger" on August 10, 2021.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), Şebelek lost his life at the hospital at 7.30 pm yesterday (August 29).
Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar has also shared a message of condolences in memory of the deceased soldier.
Operations Claw
Turkey launched the Claw-Lightning and Claw-Thunderbolt operations on April 23 in northern Iraq's Metina and Avasin-Basyan. The operations launched by the Turkish Armed Forces on the borders with the Iraqi Regional Government (KRG) continued with the operations of Claw, Claw-2, Claw-3, Claw-Tiger, Claw-Eagle, Claw-Lightning, Claw-Thunderbolt.
During the operations, the Turkish Armed Forces proceed by setting up military bases in Iraq's Hakurk and Sinat-Haftanin regions and settle in the region. (EMK/SD)
