Taken into custody earlier today (January 13), Social Security Expert and TELE 1 TV host Ali Tezel has been released after his deposition.
As reported by the İhlas News Agency (İHA), Tezel was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the "Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ)", which is held responsible for the coup attempt on Jluy 15, 2016.
Tezel announced his detention on Twitter. Sharing a brief message at 8 a.m., he said, "I am being detained. I do not know the reason."

About Ali Tezel
TV host at TELE 1 TV channel. He presents the program "Ali Tezel'e Sorun" (Ask Ali Tezel) every Tuesday.
He was born in Ödemiş, İzmir in 1966. Graduating from Konya Atatürk Medical High School, he started working as an health officer.
In 1987-1989, while he was working at the night shift of Ankara Numune Hospital Emergency Service, he was studying at Hacettepe University Department of Anesthetics during the day.
In 1989, while he was working at the night shift of İzmir Alsancak State Hospital, he studied at the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations of Dokuz Eylül University in the day. He graduated in 1993.
He started working as an inspector at the Social Security Authority (SSK) in 1995. He was appointed as an insurance inspector in 1998. He was the head inspector of Social Security Institution (SGK), Department of Guidance and Inspection and İstanbul Group no. 1 Department. He was the Group Chair from 2004 to October 2007, when he was dismissed.
Ali Tezel resigned from both public service and his duty as an head inspector on September 1, 2008.
He previously worked for the newspapers Akşam, Millet and Habertürk and TV channels KYTURK, Kanaltürk, Samanyolu Haber (SHaber), BLOOMBERG HT, Ulusal Kanal and Uzay TV. (TP/SD)
