Sub-Governor's Office of Şişli in İstanbul has not admitted the allegations that a citizen named Mehmet Nuri Deniz was battered by the officials there.
Releasing a written statement in response to the allegations, the office has indicated that Deniz "acted in an inappropriate manner and the officials of the sub-governor's office took him outside the building."

While the sub-governor's office has also announced that it has filed a criminal complaint against Deniz, the statement released on the social media account of the office has briefly read as follows:
'He hurled the money around'
"Concerning that he was poor and in need of help, a financial aid of 1,400 TRY was provided to our citizen Mehmet Nuri Deniz, who asked for financial aid; the aid in question was granted to him by the decision of our district's Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation Board of Trustees a week apart, namely 1,000 TRY on May 21, 2020 and 400 TRY on May 27, 2020.
"After our records had been examined, it was understood that the aforementioned citizen was residing in Duatepe Neighborhood and that he was 34 years old and not married.
"Mehmet Nuri Deniz came to our Sub-Governor's Office on June 5, 2020, had a row with our officials because he found 400 TRY aid insufficient, adopted an inappropriate attitude and language because any more aid was not granted and hurled the money in his hand around at the Sub-Governor's Office. The related person was taken out of the building by our security forces due to his inappropriate attitude and behavior.
"A criminal complaint has been filed to the Public Prosecutor's Office against the person who has taken this issue away from its real dimension and nature and made allegations to embitter grudge, hatred and discrimination in society and to cause unrest and indignation."
What happened?
As also reported by Artı TV after bianet, Kurdish citizen named Mehmet Nuri Deniz alleged that after he asked for social relief from Şişli Sub-Governor's Office in İstanbul, he was battered and insulted by the officials there. With his attorney Eren Keskin, Deniz filed a criminal complaint against the office at the İstanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. (EMK/SD)
