Six tanks went to northern Iraq
Portable bridges used in enabling the passage of tanks were also installed during this simulation. Six tanks that took part in the simulation were later loaded on trucks Monday and sent to Doha in northern Iraq.
Meanwhile, a number of U.S. military vehicles and equipment that were kept waiting at the Iskenderun port were loaded on trucks that set off in two
separate convoys. Paramilitary police escorted the trucks. Strict security measures were taken throughout the way.
The military vehicles and equipment aboard a Ro-Ro ship that arrived at the Iskenderun port the night before were unloaded. Unloading the "Rokia Delmas"
took a whole night. (BB/EA/NM)
