Eda Nur Kaplan (18) committed suicide in the capital city of Ankara, sending a message to her mother, "Your little girl cannot stand some things anymore. They have wasted your daughter so much."
As reported by daily Evrensel, before committing suicide, Kaplan appealed to the police and filed a criminal complaint against two men for sexual assault. While one of the suspects Mehmet A. was detained and released due to lack of evidence, Yusuf G. was still being searched.
G. was reportedly caught by the Ankara Security Directorate teams today (August 10). Following the related procedures at the police department, suspect Yusuf G. was referred to the Ankara Courthouse.
Giving his statement at the prosecutor's office, suspect G. was referred to the judgeship to be arrested for "aggravated sexual assault." The judgeship has released the suspect to house arrest. The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has appealed against the release of the suspect.
The Office has also announced that a warrant has been issued against the other suspect Mehmet A. Detained over the incident, A. was previously released on probation after giving his statement. (EMK/KÖ/SD)
