Sedat Peker's lawyer announced Ahmet Emre Olur's release on his social media account today. The court, however, imposed a travel ban on Olur.
The press advisor of Peker was detained in Tirana, Albania, on September 18 and was brought to İstanbul.
The week prior to his detention Olur visited Peker in the United Arab Emirates, where the mobster currently resides. Prosecutors indicted Olur with 8 years and 3 months in prison on charges of 'being leader in a criminal organization'.

Peker himself also has an arrest warrant against him for "leading a criminal organization." But has been in hiding in the United Arab Emirates since early 2020. The mob figure has been well-known in Türkiye's underworld since the 1990s and was imprisoned multiple times for organized crime.
He gained nationwide notoriety after posting videos and tweets full of claims and allegations against political figures.
Peker targeted several former and incumbent government officials in his videos, making serious accusations against them, including international drug smuggling, political assassinations, corruption, sexual assault, and murder.
Targets of Peker were, among others, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, former Interior Minister Mehmet Ağar, his son and AKP deputy Tolga Ağar, former PM Binali Yıldırım's son Erkam Yıldırım, and former intelligence and military officer Korkut Eken.
The government and relevant people dismissed some of his claims while remaining silent about others.
Peker's videos gained over 100 million views on YouTube and were dubbed "Sedatflix" on social media. Peker's lawyer, Ersan Barkın, recently stated that Netflix made an offer to Sedat Peker. He responded that "the person who will play me must be a crazy person." (RT/WM)
