Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov has said that Turkey’s security interests could be resolved through direct dialogue between Damascus and Ankara.
According to Sputnik News, speaking at the joint press conference following his meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Lavrov said that they understand both Turkey’s concerns about Syria and Kurds’ wishes, and these matters should not be speculated:
“Turkey’s security interests can be totally protected through a direct dialogue with Damascus. We accept Turkey’s concerns and Kurds’ wishes. What we don’t accept is the foreign forces’ speculation attempts to bring forward their agenda, which has nothing to with legitimate interests of Kurdish people, to reach their geopolitical and narrow-minded goals.
“Deepening Kurdish question and using it to separate Syria is unacceptable”. (EKN/TK)
