It has been stated that Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov has rejected request of his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to meet and that the statement made by Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs foreseeing a meeting in the near future denied.
Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Mariya Zaharova speaking to İnterfax news agency said, “Lavrov hasn’t responded positively to any of the meeting requests”.

According to Sputnik news, Zaharova said the following:
“Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issuing a statement suggesting a meeting is agreed despite that manifests how [Turkey] lacks the most basic understanding of ethics and respect, and also shows we might question what we hear from Ankara”.

Ministry spokesperson had announced
Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Tanju Bilgiç had announced this morning that Çavuşoğlu and Lavrov spoke on the phone and agreed to hold a meeting in the upcoming days.

“Mr. Minister informed his Russian counterpart as to Russian Federation planed shot down due to Turkish air space violation.
