Journalist, writer and documentarian Ruhi Karadağ has been detained at İstanbul Airport after he arrived in Turkey due to his mother's illness.
There was reportedly a detention warrant issued by the Pazarcık Penal Judgeship of Peace against Ruhi Karadağ, who is reportedly facing the charge of "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" in one of his books. He is expected to appear before the judge today (March 25).
About Ruhi Karadağ
He graduated from the Department of Geological Engineering of Hacettepe University. He joined the photography club during his studies. He took part in several photography exhibitions and gave workshops on photography. His first photographs and articles were published in Nokta and Aktüel magazines. He worked for various newspapers and magazines afterwards.
His exhibition "Anadolu'da Kadın" (Woman in Anatolia) was on display in several cities in Germany (1995). In 1994, he started doing journalism on TV, worked in news programs as well as other shows.
He worked in TV news desks, directed TV programs, shot commercial films, and prepared documentaries. He was also the production coordinator of the TV series "Zerda" and "Aliye". In 2005, he founded his own film company. He is still working as a director, producer and writer.
