The Radio and Television Supreme Council has fined four TV channels — Halk TV, KRT, Tele 1 and TGRT — and Radio Sputnik. All the outlets have received the maximum amount of monetary penalties.
Halk TV was fined because of violating the provision that "broadcasting services... cannot include expressions that are beyond the limits of criticism or qualify as slander." The fine was imposed due to guests' remarks during a program titled "Kadraj ve Mesele."
Radyo ve Televizyon Üst Kurulu (RTÜK), Halk TV, KRT, Tele 1, TGRT ve Radyo Sputnik'e üst sınırdan idari para cezası verdi.
KRT was fined for the same reason due to the program "Olağan İşler" (The Usual Business).
TGRT, a pro-government outlet, was fined because of its failure to implement a broadcast suspension penalty issued by the Bakırköy 1st Penal Judgeship of Peace.
TELE 1 was fined because of the violation of broadcasting principles.
Radio Sputnik was fined because the host of a program mentioned the name of an alcoholic beverage brand. (AS/VK)
