Part of the income of the Solidarity Stage (Dayanışma Sahnesi) concert organized by DasDas, Needs Map and Zorlu PSM following the February 6 earthquakes was transferred to the Robotel Association.
The association is producing robot arms using 3D printers, customized for the person and which can perform the basic gripping functions. The Chairperson, Serdar Okumuş, says that their priority is to meet the requirements of the children affected by the earthquake.
Around thousand robot arms needed
Okumuş describes the association's plans for meeting the needs of the earthquake victims. Their aim is to unite the forces with the public institutions, local administrations and non-governmental organizations. The estimated number of people in need is a thousand. They will have to increase their capacity dramatically, which they will try to do. They are cooperating with the private sector through sponsorships, donations, etc.
"We believe that we will provide the necessary resoures in cooperation with the institutions and the individuals. The donation made to our association from the income of the Solidarity Stage will end up as robot arms for more than fifty children who need them.
The association has produced more than a thousand robot arms for more than 400 children, in line with their developing needs parallel to their growth. (AÖ/PE)
