In the statement made by Diyarbakır Municipality Crisis Desk to bianet, it has been stated that repair works are undertaken in Melik Ahmet and Lalebey neighborhoods of Sur district for people to return whereas no house is left in the six neighborhoods for maintenance.
According to the statement, works will be conducted like completing the essential materials such as doors.
The statement went on expressing that in the other six neighborhoods, there are no houses left that could be repaired as the neighborhoods are completely ruined.
The desk declared that 2,089 families have fled districts under curfew to other districts.
Fırat News Agency reported that food and cloth aid is being provided for families who had to leave their houses. According to the report, the Crisis Desk formed by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, Sur Municipality, and Union of Southeastern Anatolia Region Municipalities, has been conducting damage assessment work for 21 days.
Some houses and workplaces have been repaired.
Curfews in Sur
The curfew declared in Cevatpaşa, Fatihpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Hasırlı, Cemal Yılmaz and Savaş neighborhoods, and Gazi street had been paused for 17 hours on December 11.
Another curfew was declared in six neighborhoods and one street on December 14, 2015.
As the curfew ended in Gazi street on December 30, 2015, it continued in Cevatpaşa, Fatihpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Hasırlı, Cemal Yılmaz and Savaş neighborhoods.
The sub-Governorship declared curfew in Abdaldede, Alipaşa, Lalebey, Süleyman Nazif and Ziya Gökalp neighborhoods, and Melikahmet street on January 27, 2016.
Curfew spread to the entire district when a curfew was imposed on Camii Kebir, Camii Nebi, İskenderpaşa and Melikahmet neighborhoods on February 3, 12 a.m.
As curfew continues in 15 neighborhoods, it was removed in Abdaldede, Alipaşa, Lalebey, Süleyman Nazif, Ziya Gökalp, Camii Kebir, Camii Nebi, İskenderpaşa and Melikahmet neihgborhoods. The curfew is ongoing in six neihgborhoods.
