The court that is trying the Ergenekon case rejected the recusation demand made at the first hearing on Monday.
The court had left the decision for the motions to join the trial and the recusation demand of the defense lawyers to tomorrow’s hearing.
The defense lawyers had demanded that Sedat Sami Haşıoğlu, one of the judges of the case, withdraw from the trial, since his signature was on the arrest orders issued during the investigation.
While the defense lawyers had claimed that including Haşıoğlu in the case would cast a shadow on the principle of just trial, the prosecutor had countered this by stating that this was an abstract allegation. (EÜ/TB)
