Many public buildings, including state hospitals, municipalities, and an AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) building were damaged in today's disastrous earthquakes in Türkiye that killed at least 1.498, injured 8.533, toppled 2.834 buildings.
Multiple historical buildings were also partially damaged, including an old church and an old mosque.
Two state hospitals and airport in Hatay
Hatay Governor Rahmi Doğan announced that the İskenderun and Antakya hospitals are among the collapsed building.
The intensive care unit of the İskenderun state hospital is destroyed. There are rescue efforts to help the hospital's patients and the personnel.
In addition, the local police department also collapsed and Hatay's only airport runway has been split in two, making it impossible for planes to land.
