The Justice and Development Party (AKP) Youth Organization shared a video on its social media account yesterday (October 20).
As the video asks citizens, "Who are you?" (Sen Kimsin?), the hashtag #senkimsin became a trending topic on Twitter due to the reactions.
While the video of the party starts with Musʽab ibn ʽUmair, a companion (sahabi) of Prophet Muhammad and ends with President and AKP Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it also features a series of other figures such as Ottoman Sultans Suleiman the Magnificent and Mehmed the Conquerer, former Prime Minister Adnan Menderes and poet Necip Fazıl Kısakürek.
Intended as a publicity stunt, the video has received several negative reactions on social media with messages referring to male violence and feminicides in Turkey as well as violence against animals, the destruction of nature and the people who lost their lives in occupational homicides.
