Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office officially requested RTÜK and TIB - Turkey’s top media and communication monitoring authorities - to take precautions on the graft probe in order to preserve the confidentiality of investigation.
Submitted to Turkey’s Higher Board for Radio and Television (RTÜK) by prosecutor Turan Çolakkadı, the official request statement included the following:
“Our prosecution office is investigating the case publicly known as graft probe. For the past two days, several visual, audio and internet media outlets broadcasted content that violated the confidentiality of investigation and it is still underway.
“While Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office has launched investigations on certain media outlets, other prosecutors offices should also take the similar action. However, RTÜK and TİB need to be informed in order to take necessary precautions for factors out of the investigation." (EA/BM)
