“Even though I don’t know when you will receive it, we continue to write with limited means about rights violations that we experience. [We are writing] so that what we experience here is not kept hostage inside these four walls and rights violations come to an end…”
Writing to bianet from Van Type F Prison, Mecit Şahinkaya has told that their objection against prison management’s bans on books and newspapers was accepted by the court but the prison management doesn’t recognize this decision and still doesn’t deliver the books to them.
Letter to bianet was found “objectionable”
Şahinkaya stated that their letter in which they tell the right violations they are subjected to wasn’t send to receivers by the prison management. The management has ignored the verdict rendered by the Execution Judgeship or Heavy Penal Court.
Şahinkaya added that imprisoned Talat Şanlı’s letter to bianet was also found “objectionable” and not posted. (AS/TK)
