President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave his speech at a rally called “Democracy Watch” in Ankara’s Beştepe district in the Presidential Palace.
Erdoğan announced that a break has been taken from the democracy watch:
“Thanks to all my citizens who have announced their loyalty to their country and nation with their will power and enthusiasm. And now we are taking a break from the democracy watch. But we won’t erase this watch from our souls and hearts.”
PKK attacks
The lines from President Erdoğans speech as follows:
“Democracy watch isn’t kept only at specific places and times. We will protect our democracy, freedom, government, future in our houses, workplaces, everywhere at all hours of the day and night and all days of the year.
“It is unknown where the threat, betrayal, sabotage will come from, when it will come and who will bring it. We have martyrs in Şırnak again. There are explosions in Mardin and Diyarbakır. FETÖ (Fethullahist Terrorist Organisation) quits the betrayal watch and PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) takes over, PKK quits and Daesh (ISIS) takes over.
“We all know that their characters requires that. We all know that their habits requires that. And they do it. They do what their characters require.”
He called on USA for extradition
Erdoğan talked about the extradition of Fethullah Gülen who lives in USA:
“Sooner or later the United States will make a choice.Turkey or FETÖ. Coup plotter terrorist FETÖ or country of democracy Turkey. It has to make a choice.
“They will crap out one by one during their betrayal watch, we will say with god’s help ‘Martyrs would flow if you hold the earth, martyrs, may god take my life, my loved ones, all that is mine, my only wish is that may it not part me with my country.’ (a part of Turkish National Anthem) during democracy watch, defending the country, and then we will continue our way.”
“PKK, FETÖ, Daesh, PYD, YPG…”
This organisation whose iniquitousness, lawlessness, slanders, and hypocrisy we have been struggling with for years has blood on its hands now. And what is worse, the blood is our nation's blood. This nation forgives all kind of mistakes, tolerates all kinds of lacking but it is intolerant when the matter is betrayal.
“Fethullahist Terrorist Organisation betrayed both the nation and the country. This terror that was presented by these traitors under the cover of coup attempt is nothing but a practice for the invasion of Turkey.
“We know that the ones who point a gun on their own nation will sell out their country as well.
“Now some individuals are announcing that they will come to the cities from the rural areas. If they come, they will regret it. Be aware of that.
“PKK, FETÖ, Daesh, PYD (Democratic Union Party), YPG(People’s Protection Units), come all of you. You won’t be able to overcome this nation, with god’s allowance, with my lord’s allowance you won’t be able to overcome this nation. I believe that we die once, rise as thousands.
“We are cleaning as part of the legal framework”
“There is no state other than the Republic of Turkey. Whats with that parallel state? We will exterminate all of them. We are in their nest now.
“Let me clarify something. We are not doing these thing with a mentality of revenge. We are cleaning these intruders with law and justice. We need no advice about this.”
“Parliament must discuss death penalty”
Erdoğan has pointed out that whatever is in the constitution, it is being carried out and will continue to be carried out. Hetalked about citizen’s “We want the death penalty” slogans:
“Brothers and sisters, I have shared my opinions about this matter early on. I am saying it again - politicians must not ignore this request of my people, they can’t.
“What they have to do is to discuss this matter in parliament. No one should try to explain this with legal gaps. The date of this coup is known, therefore this must be discussed as from the date of the coup.
“If parliament approves this request, then I will approve it as well. If parliament does not approve it, there is nothing I can do.
“Democracy is a regime that the nation has the power to rule itself.” (AS/UA)
