President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated that he found US bombing Syria positive and said, “Is that sufficient? I don’t find it sufficient”.
* You’ve seen the massacre carried out by the Syrian regime, right? Images of those helpless children hurt us deeply inside. If I can find a chance today, I will visit those who have been wounded in the chemical weapon attack. No one has the right to feel peaceful in a world in which children are brutally slaughtered.
* Following what happened, everyone should reconsider their positions. No one should hide their crimes against humanity behind the fight against DEAŞ (ISIS).
* The US had positive statement and initiative about this matter recently. We had declared that we would support it. Tonight, an attack was launched from US battleships to an air base in which an attack was carried out on Idlib. Syria’s air base was hit. I want to declare here that this is a positive step taken against Syria’s war crimes.
* Is that sufficient? I don’t think so. We have to follow it up. According to us, the recent developments have manifested the rightness of Turkey to form secure zones in Syria. (NV/TK)
