Turkey has started to making up for its economic losses after suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic, President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said today (September 16).
"This pandemic has, of course, affected us as well as the entire world. Our shopkeepers, craftspeople and tradespeople are among the most affected," Erdoğan said at a meeting with shopkeepers in Kırşehir.
"Thankfully, we continue on our way by making up for our losses in a short in a period when even developed countries are experiencing serious turmoil.
"Don't we have problems and troubles? Of course, we have, but none of them are issues we can't overcome," said the president, pointing out the financial assistance programs for shopkeepers due to the pandemic.
"You can also see the latest developments in the economy. We have reached the highest growth figures in the world. We are breaking record after record in exports. Employment has even exceeded the pre-pandemic period.
"We know the problems about high living costs as well. By combating profiteers, we will take the inflation under control and prevent exorbitant price increases. Our every problem will be solved by themselves."
