Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın has commentated release of Cumhuriyet daily Chief Editor Can Dündar, and its Ankara Representative Erdem Gül who remained imprisoned for 92 days over their reports on Turkish National Intelligence Agency (MİT) trucks.

Saying “The verdict doesn’t mean acquittal, we will follow the process”, Kalın pointed Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks releasing confidential documents belonging to US State Department.
“This is not a decision of acquittal but release. There are espionage trials in different countries of the world, like Assange.
“It is deemed as supremacy of law in such similar cases when the Western countries take such precautions but the situation in Turkey is being diverted to different aspect. The trial will continue, and we will closely follow the process”. (EKN/TK)
