PM Davutoğlu made a first statement while the election results are coming to an end, “Our nation’s decision is the truest one.”
PM Ahmet Davutoğlu called out to the public from the election van in Konya province.
Davutoğlu said in his first statement about the general elections “Don’t worry. Our nation’s decision is the truest one. Everything is going to be all right in Konya. May God bless you for this heartwarming farewell. Thank you. God bless you.”
PM Davutoğlu departed to go to the capital, Ankara.
Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputy candidate from Ankara, thanked to voters and stated that they would enter the parliaments with 80 deputies of HDP.
Sırrı Süreyya Önder made a statement on behalf of his party while 85.53% of the ballot boxes were being opened: “These results are a victory for democracy against brutality, freedom against oppression, modesty against impertinence, peace against the war. Thank you for your votes.”
Murat Karayalçın, İstanbul provincial Head of Republican People’s Party (CHP), said: “Voters didn’t allow Justice and Development Party (AKP) come to power alone. Voters said no to the presidential system. It is highly possible for CHP to form the new government.”
Head of CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, made his first statement about the election results:" We finished off the era of oppression with democratic ways. Democracy wins, Turkey wins. Live long democracy! I thank you all!"
HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş:
“This victory is of all oppressed Kurds, Turks, Arabs, Bosnians, Armenians and Circassians and all ethnic groups from all religions who want to live in peace in this country. This victory is of all labors, jobless people, villagers, farmers, tradesman, leftists and people whose labors are exploited. This victory is of all people who want democratic resolution and peace and most of all this victory belongs to all women in the country.”
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli, said "We are ready to act as the main opposition party," and added MHP came out honorably in the elections.
On the night of June 7, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu made a balcony speech and greeted the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: “With the name of Allah, Thank God that we went great guns.
We deliver a message to all political parties: 'Don’t gain a victory with mischief.' We will make self-assessment. We call for all political parties to issue a new civil constitution.”
Government spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister, Bülent Arınç, said:” It is highly possible for AKP to come to power. The only party which succeeded in general elections is HDP. “
