Police launched an operation towards several locations in Istanbul’s Gülsuyu and Gazi neighborhoods this early morning.
The operation was carried within the cooperation of Anti-Terror Police, Riot Police and Special Ops forces. Several apartments and offices were raided.
Police raided 15 locations in Gazi neighborhood which reportedly took 3 hours until 9 am local time.
The operation in Gülsuyu neighborhood, on the other hand, targeted 60 locations, including Gülensu Rights Foundation and Sarıgazi Rights Foundation.
Halkın Hukuk Bürosu (People’s Law Office) disclosed a list of detainees as follows: Zelal Armutlu, Cengiz Baysan, İsyan Yükselir, Çağrı Gülşen, Şeref Özcan, Güner Gündoğdu, Zozan Yardak, Serkan Bozoğlu, Muharrem Zengin and Emine Cansever.
Ezilenlerin Hukuk Bürosu (Law Office of the Oppressed) released a statement, saying that 10 Ezilenlerin Sosyalist Partisi (Socialist Party of the Oppressed) members were detained with 1 from Gazi and 9 from Gülsuyu.
After the death of Hasan Ferit Gedik on September 29, Organized Crime Police carried out a drug operation in Gülsuyu neighborhood. 14 were detained after the raids and arrested on Friday.(AS/BM)
