Police Sieges Istanbul on May Day

The video above is a slight part of police interventions from May Day demonstrations in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. We observe demonstrators dancing and singing anthems themselves when they are actually not subjected to police violence with teargas bombs and cannoned water. 

The video ends with an announcement telling the demonstrators to dissemble and then we hear a police announcement telling protestors to "dissemble". Nothing more.

In those moments that I couldn't use my camera, people were fleeing away from police gas and water. It was like police was rushing to dissemble protestors in order to say that they have done the dissembling "job".

The last photo depicts the aftermath of police intervention. Police is "dissembling" the people who were already heading their way out. (BK/BM)
