Early this morning, police intervened the 60-day long worker resistance at Greif Company, a global manufacturer of industrial packaging systems and industrial bulk containers located in Istanbul’s Hadımköy district.
During the police intervention, reporters Mehmet Ali Karabulut (Kızılbayrak newspaper) and Zarife Çamalan (Alınteri newspaper) have also been reported.
Kızılbayrak newspaper shared a photo of Mehmet Ali Karabulut taken into police detention car with a bleeding nose, claiming that he was beaten by the police.

On February 12, workers have occupied the factory after the negotiations for a collective labor agreement yielded with no results.
Workers stated that the commission of subcontractor workers, four bonus per year and 30 percent pay rise were “red line” for them.
Greif workers have demonstrated at many places included Bosporus. Today workers started the day with police intervention.
Many workers were taken into custody while some of them were injured.
Grief workers still continue to resistance on the roof and some parts of the factory. Police keep waiting around the factory. (EKN/BD/BM)
