Private security personnel and police officers have blocked entrance of Cebeci Campus of Ankara University at which the largest number of expulsion of academics by Statutory Decree occurred.
Education and Science Laborers Union (Eğitim Sen) Universities Ankara Branch No. 5 had announced that the demonstration called “Grand Rally” would start at 12:30 p.m.
Starting to come to campus at around 11:30, the academics faced hindrances. Shutting down the campus door, the police officers beat the academics. 11 people including expelled academic Nuray Türkmen were taken into custody.
The expelled academics and their supporters marched towards Union of Political Science Graduates (Ankara University). The police, who intervened those in front of the campus, entered the campus.

In the statement issued by the academics who could make into the campus, the police violence was protested. Police tried to prevent this statement as well.
Those who were subjected to police violence and blockade issued a press conference on Yüksel Street.
