Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak deputies Aycan İrmez and Ferhat Encü told bianet that the police opened fire against people who tried to prevent police detentions at 4 a.m. today. Three people have lost their lives.
İrmez: Police opened fire in front of the hospital
HDP deputy Aycan İrmez said most of the injured persons in the hospital were under the age of 18 and teenager girls. İrmez and Encü couldn’t reach Governorship and District Governorship of Şırnak. It was stated by the deputies that snipers located in a school continued to fire against people from time to time. Three apartments burnt down from the fire.
HDP Şırnak deputy Aycan İrmez:
“We tried to reach District Governorship. He didn’t answer us but suggested we should see the Governor. We also demanded an ambulance from the Governorship but they didn’t help. You can see they don’t even care.”
Encü: It’s an attempt for massacre
HDP Şırnak deputy Ferhat Encü told bianet:
“Last night, the police blockaded Silopi and Cizre districts of Şırnak province to detain people but police opened fire upon the resistance of people. Three people died. Many people got injured.
"Snipers made blockade the neighborhood and many houses burnt. People are afraid to leave their homes. Wounded people are prevented from going hospitals. A vehicle carrying injured ones was opened fire against. The Mayorship of Silopi tried to extinguish the burning apartments but the police threatened them. It’s an attempt for a massacre.”
Governorship of Şırnak announced two policemen got injured; one of them was gravely injured.
The names of the people who lost their lives: Hamdin Ulaş (58), Mehmet Hıdır Tanboğa (17) and Kamuran Bilin who was estimated 25 or 30 years old.
