Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım made a statement on the new model which would replace TEOG (Transition from Basic to Secondary Education), the current system of transition from primary to secondary education.
Yıldırım stated that the scores of the last four years would be taken into account in placing the children to high schools and that the exams would consist of open-ended questions instead of multiple choice.
University entrance exam
Yıldırım, giving a speech for the beginning of the new school year at the 18 Mart University, also made statements on the university entry exam and said
"There will be a single exam for some more time but this will be combined with the average success at the middle and high school. This exam will not be the single determinant. (YY/DG)
