Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has responded to a question about Die Welt reporter Deniz Yücel, who was detained on February 14.
Being in Munich for 53rd Munich Security Conference, PM Yıldırım said “This matter concerns prosecutor’s office”, and added he is not “informed of the accusations that Yücel faces”.
Deniz Yücel went to İstanbul Security Directorate on Vatan Street to give testimony and was detained.
The questions were about RedHack investigation
Yücel had prepared a news report about the information which was allegedly about Minister of Energy Berat Albayrak’s e-email correspondences, which were leaked by the hacker group RedHack.
Attorney of Deniz Yücel, Veysel Ok in an interview to Deutsche Welle Türkçe had noted that the questions posed to Yücel were about RedHack investigation and said “We can say that he will possibly be charged with terror organization membership”. (HK/TK)
