Bese Hozat, co-leader of Kurdistan Workers Party’s (PKK) military wing known as KCK, announced the conditions for laying down of arms.
In an interview with Med Nuçe Channel, Hozat said the conditions were as follows: start of negotiations under Öcalan’s 10 articles, working of Monitoring Council, forming of Truth Commission and a new constitution.
Saying that they would act in sync with the steps taken by the Turkish government, Hozat said they agreed with every word of Abdullah Öcalan’s Newroz message and urged the government spokesperson Bülent Arınç’s comments not to remain in words.
"YPG participated in Operation Suleyman Shah”
Hozat said the following on the Turkish Military operation to restore the tomb of Suleyman Shah - a medieval Turkish commander believed to be the grandfather of first Ottoman Empire.
“Prior to the incident, Salih Müslim [co-chairman of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the driving power behind the de facto autonomous Kurdish controlled region of Rojava in Northern Syria] went to Ankara. He held talks with Justice and Development Party (AKP) officials. They discussed on the operation and the decision was made together. YPG would support the operation and join them. Turkish Military made the operation within the permission of Rojava canton. YPG took a direct role in the operation. They also provided security during the transfer of the tomb. The decision to move the tomb to the village of Eşme [in Rojava kanton] was also decided on that meeting with PYD,” she said. (BK/BM)
