Pınar Gemsiz (33) watching the conflict on the third floor in balcony erupting in Gazi neighborhood was shot last night (May 15). Gemsiz lost her life this morning in the hospital where she was taken for treatment.
The conflict reportedly broke out between police and the groups willing to mark the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninis (TKP/ML)’s founder İbrahim Kalpakkaya who was killed on May 18, 1973 in conflict in Sultangazi.
According to Evrensel daily’s report based on Dicle News Agency (DİHA), police used firearm in the conflict. Meanwhile, Gemsiz looking at the incidents from her balcony on the third floor was hit. “After Gemsiz got wounded, police got off the armored vehicle, collected the empty cases and left”, the eyewitness told.
Gemsiz ailesi tarafından hastaneye kaldırılmıştı.
Halkların Demokratik Kongresi Sultangazi’den bir açıklama yayınlandı ve Gemsiz’in vücuduna üç kurşunun isabet edildiği belirtildi.
Gemsiz was taken to the hospital by her family.
Peoples’ Democratic Congress issued a statement from Sultangazi and expressed that three bullets hit Gemsiz’s body. (HK/TK)
