Vedat Çamlı, Mustafa Aksoy and Resul Kalyoncu who wanted to march for peace from Istanbul to Hakkari have been interrupted. Police has hindered the march on command of Istanbul Governorship, the marchers have been taken into custody and taken to Beykoz District Security Directorate.
Vedat Çamlı, Mustafa Aksoy and Resul Kalyoncu who have been released after giving testimony continue the march.
Holding a brief statement in front of the Security Directorate, the marchers have invited everybody to participate calling “The day is the day to stabd up”.
Call for peace
Vedat Çamlı, Mustafa Aksoy and Resul Kalyoncu had made an announcement on their social media account and have departed for the 1826 km march yesterday (July 7) in the early hours.
In their announcement they have stated “We are actualizing this march in order to show one another that a different kind of world is possible, and all opinions can get united for the common cause of solidarity and peace. [...] During the march we will not use any flags or chant any slogans. [...] Lets walk all together to be a rainbow.
Earlier in September 2015, Mustafa Aksoy and Resul Kalyoncu had marched from Beykoz to Semdinli for peace in 52 days. (YY/DG)
