University Academic Members Association (ÜNİVDER) has issued a statement condemning the bomb car attack which occurred in Vezneciler.
ÜNİVDER saying the attack was against the right to live, stated that it wishes that the administrators abandon valor right away and show the required awareness and responsibility for the perpetual peace to be built.
In the attack carried out this morning (June 7) in Vezneciler neighborhood of İstanbul, 11 people seven of whom are police killed, 36 others injured as three of them are in critical condition.
"An area within extreme security cordon"
Following phrases have been included in the statement of the ÜNİVDER:
“Today, the attack carried out in Vezneciler neighborhood of İstanbul was launched like the previous assaults against the most honorable value, the right to live.
“It is frightening that the area where İstanbul University compound, women dormitory are located is chosen. Furthermore, this area is within extreme security cordon. Despite this, it is curious that the explosion occurred in this area.
“We condemn the relentless attack whether it comes from targeting our citizens”.
“Perpetual peace”
“As in every attack, we wish that the administrators abandon valor right away and show the required awareness and responsibility for the perpetual peace to be built.
“It is the duty of all circles of the society, notably the government and political authority to maintain perpetual peace in the region and country, prioritizing protection of all rights, especially the right to live under any circumstances in the balance of freedom-security on the basis of supremacy of democracy and law”.
“Life against death, peace against war/violence! We refuse to live with terror”. (BK/TK)
