The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İstanbul MP Garo Paylan has submitted a parliamentary inquiry for the investigation of Ceylanpınar, where two police officers were killed and which is given as justification for the end of solution process.
In the lawsuit regarding the police officers Feyyaz Yumuşak and Okan Uçar, who were found dead at their homes in Turkey's southeastern Ceylanpınar district in Urfa on July 22, 2015, all of the nine defendants, four of whom were under arrest, have been acquitted of the murder charges.
Speaking to bianet, the attorney of the defendants, Hüseyin Akay earlier stated that "two policemen lost their lives in this incident and with the end of solution process, hundreds of people lost their lives and thousands of people were affected."
"It is Given as the Justification for the End of Solution Process"
The reason for the parliamentary inquiry has been indicated as follows:
"After the agreement at Dolmabahçe, which was a concrete step taken for the solution of Kurdish question, was shared with the public, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that 'it is a process which has begun with the democratic opening. It is a call that we wait with longing.' However, afterwards, he denied the process by saying that 'there is no such agreement.'
"On April 5, 2015, the solution process was definitely ended by the government."
Stating that after the solution process was ended, successive attacks were carried out, Paylan reminded the bomb attack at HDP Diyarbakır rally on June 5, 2015 and Suruç attack on July 20, 2015.
Paylan added, "Two days after the massacre in Suruç, on July 22, 2015, two police officers, Feyyaz Yumuşak and Okan Uçar were shot in their heads and killed at their homes. This incident was presented to the public as the justification for the end of solution process. In this sense, that the two police officers being killed in Ceylanpınar has immense importance." (AS/SD)
