The parliamentary efforts to legislate an act presented as “Draft Law about Ending Terror and Reinforcing Social Integration” completed last night.
The act regulates the methods and principals about the resolution process.
Previously, Parliament’s Internal Affairs Commission passed the Package on July 4.
After Articles 5 and 6 of the package were accepted, talks for the overall proposal started. In the ballot conducted at the end of the meetings, Parliament accepted the proposal and became it a law with 137 votes against 37 nay votes.
The Cabinet shall be entitled to making necessary decisions pertaining to the resolution process. The Undersecretariat of Public Order and Security of Turkey will carry out the coordination of the efforts within resolution process and their secretariat services.
According to the act, the ones designating the steps about political, judiciary, socio-economic, psychological, cultural, human rights, security and disarmament issues towards ending terror and reinforcing social integration will not take any judiciary, executive and penal responsibility because of these duties. The act also includes, the ones deciding to make a contact, dialogue, meeting and these kind of efforts with individuals, institutions and organizations in abroad and the ones charging the individuals, institutions and organizations practicing these efforts, when it is necessary; the ones taking necessary precautions to provide the involvement and adaptation of disarmed organization members to social life and their homecomings.
